Polly Benge Pilates
Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the Polly Benge Pilates website and how you can control optional services.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on a device. Similar technologies, including local storage, can also remember choices or allow an online service to work. Some are essential; others need your permission.
How this site uses them
| Category | Provider or technology | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | WordPress.com / Automattic | Hosting, security, fraud prevention, load balancing and—only for registered administrators—keeping them signed in. | Session-based or as described by Automattic; durations vary by function. |
| Essential preference | pbp_cookie_preferences in local storage | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional services so we do not ask on every visit. | 180 days, unless you clear it sooner. |
| Optional booking service | Acuity Scheduling / Squarespace | Displays the embedded booking calendar and supports bookings, client login, cart, payments, security and fraud prevention. The exact cookies depend on how you use Acuity. | Varies by cookie and booking activity. |
Your choice
The Acuity calendar is not loaded until you accept optional cookies or select “Allow booking calendar”. If you reject them, you can still follow a booking link and use Acuity on its own website. Acuity will then apply its own privacy and cookie information.
Withdrawing consent stops this website loading new embedded Acuity content. It cannot remove cookies already placed by Acuity; those can be removed using your browser controls.
WordPress.com and site statistics
This site is hosted by WordPress.com and uses Jetpack services supplied by Automattic. Automattic may process technical and aggregate usage information needed to provide, secure and measure the service. Polly does not use a separate advertising cookie or Google Analytics through this theme.
See the Automattic Cookie Policy and WordPress.com privacy guidance.
Other third-party resources
The site currently requests typefaces from Google Fonts. This does not place a cookie through this site, but Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and the page requesting the font. External links, including Instagram and Griffin Estate, are governed by those websites’ own policies.
Browser controls
Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies and site storage. Blocking essential technology may affect website or booking functions. For more general information, see the ICO’s cookie guidance.
